Seek God and Live

1 Samuel 28:3-7
3 Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had lamented for him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. And Saul had put the mediums and the spiritists out of the land. 4 Then the Philistines gathered together, and came and encamped at Shunem. So Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped at Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly. 6 And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets. 7 Then Saul said to his servants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." And his servants said to him, "In fact, there is a woman who is a medium at En Dor." 8 So Saul disguised himself and put on other clothes, and he went, and two men with him; and they came to the woman by night. And he said, "Please conduct a seance for me, and bring up for me the one I shall name to you."
Saul saw the Philistine army and became afraid. So he sought the Lord and because God didn't respond-by dreams and urim and the prophets-- he sought out a medium- a witch.
How many times do we get full of fear, worry or anxiety and because God doesn't answer us like we think He should or as soon as we think He should-- we become impatient and seek worldly wisdom and/or- in Saul's case- under-worldly wisdom- mediums, physics and fortune tellers, astrologers, card readers, etc. Saul's end was sad and very unnecessary. The Israelites and Saul (verse 19) were delivered into the hand of the Philistines- chapters 29-31.
The tragedy of rejecting God and turning to the demonic or even just worldly realm is fatal- spiritually and sometimes physically as well. Those things we seek from Satan and his kingdom will eventually turn on us in the end. It is a dangerous and deadly mistake to fall prey to Satan and his kingdom.
We must constantly seek God, pray, read His Word, study it and memorize it and apply it to our lives. When we tap into the spirit world of darkness we set ourselves up for defeat. We fall prey to the enemy.  Light has no part in darkness.

Leviticus 19:31: "Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God."
Amos 5:4 " For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: "Seek Me and live;"
