Resurrection!

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."
Romans 8:11

I am a few days late in my Easter posts. The weekend was great with family, friends and Church family celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We must keep in mind that He is no longer on that cruel cross, but in fact arose from the grave and ascended to heaven. Then He sent His spirit back to live in each on of us who will believe. (Acts 2). My redeemer lives! In our verse, Roman 8:11, we are promised that the same Spirit which raised Jesus Christ from the dead can live in us- today! It is not just for when we get to heaven. We have that same Spirit- that Resurrection Power Spirit, which, if we receive, will live inside of us, today! Now! That is such exciting news! We do not have to live the way we used to live. We have a Redeemer- who lives evermore and is very present to us today.

We are well able to stand our ground against Satan because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ! We live in resurrection power today! We must keep this in mind as we walk each day in the Lord and face battles left and right. We are victorious because of what Christ did on the cross, and also because of His resurrection. Then it didn't stop there- He passed on that resurrection power spirit to the Church. When the apostles were filled with His Spirit at Pentecost-it was resurrection power! They were enabled with that power and given the authority to use it. It is the same with us today. When we are filled with His Spirit, we receive that same power. Romans 8:11- The Message Bible puts it this way: "It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, He'll do the same thing in you that He did in Jesus, bringing you alive to Himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and He does, as surely as He did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!"

Think of it! Christ's resurrection power lives in and through us today! So having all that, we are well able to withstand all that Satan would throw at us. Be steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the God's work. (1 Corinthians 15:58) Don't allow the lies of the enemy to deter you from that. What we do for God is not useless or worthless. It is of great eternal value.

Dear Lord, help us as we continue to seek You and to stand strong in the power of Your might and to overcome the enemy and bring You glory. In Christ's Name, Amen.

~Blessings, Donna
