God’s Splender

Image
"God’s splendor is a tale that is told, written in the stars. Space itself speaks his story through the marvels of the heavens. His truth is on tour in the starry vault of the sky, showing his skill in creation’s craftsmanship. Each day gushes out its message to the next, night by night whispering its knowledge to all—without a sound, without a word, without a voice being heard, yet all the world can hear its echo. Everywhere its message goes out. What a heavenly home God has set for the sun, shining in the super dome of the sky! See how he leaves his celestial chamber each morning, radiant as a bridegroom ready for his wedding, like a day-breaking champion eager to run his course. He rises on one horizon, completing his circuit on the other, warming lives and lands with his heat."   Psalm 19:1-6 (TPT)      I love spending time in nature, watching the birds and butterflies and bees, the zany squirrels, seeing my flowers blo...

Choose the Most Excellent Way"

Image
"I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things. This will enable you to choose the most excellent way of all-becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ. And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One-bringing great praise and glory to God."   Philippians 1:9-11 (TPT)    Choose the most excellent way of all. I posted a short version of this on Facebook a while ago, but I wanted to dive a little deeper. There are many choices that one must make during the day. With some of them, we find out later it wasn't an excellent or even a good choice. We regret what we did. Many times there is no taking it back- especially if it was something we said to someone or the way we reacted to something or someone. The only recourse then is to repent to God and the person and try to do better the...

Beauty for Ashes

Image
While my husband and I were  on our recent vacation in Virginia, we visited Manasas National Battlefield- the site of the first battle of the Civil War. While walking through the fields we were swarmed by a flock of beautiful Eastern Bluebirds. I didn't know what they were until I was able to catch one giving me a perfect photo op.  What a beautiful sight as they swooped above and around us, the sun reflecting off their bright metallic blue bodies.  They are typically known as a symbol of joy, happiness,  hope and rebirth. I thought- how appropriate knowing what happened at this site on July 21, 1861 where 80,000 men lost their lives in just one conflict. At a place where there was so much blood spilled for our freedom- now it is a nesting place for such beautiful birds that symbolize rebirth.  There was another such place- on a hill- on a cross- blood was spilled for our freedom. Jesus Christ, the perfect lamb and only sacrifice- the one a...

The Voice of the Turtledove

Image
Recently, while in n prayer ,the Lord lead me to these verses. Song of Solomon 2:11-13.    Solomon 2: 11-13 (TPT) "The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you?   The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth." It's been a rough winter physically for my husband and myself. Also for some in our family and Church. But while in prayer, I sensed the Lord saying that the winter is past, a new season has come. We must be open to the voice of the turtledove- our Beloved is calling us into a deeper place of worship, our relationship with Him and a greater sense of our purpose in His plan. ...
