Fresh Oil- Fresh Anointing
"And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually." Exodus 27:20
"It shall not be poured on man's flesh, nor shall you make any other like it, according to its composition. It is holy and it shall be holy to you." Exodus 30:32
The anointing oil. The oil that kept the lamp in the tabernacle burning continually and the oil that was used for anointing, was produced when the olives were crushed, emitting the oil. This oil had to be pure. There could be no pulp of the olive in it. It took a lot of crushing.
Today- that oil is represented by the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is available for all who love the Lord. But the thing is- we are as that olive. We have to go through times of crushing, pressing- in order for that anointing to be pure and holy. We must realize that it isn't us- it is the Spirit of the Lord inside of us. But in order for that pure anointing, we will go through times of testings and trials.
The anointing comes with a price. Just like that olive that is beaten and crushed in order for the pure olive oil to come forth, so to- we go through crushing trials and stresses. But as we put our faith and trust in the Lord, He does the work. There may be seasons of separation, being misunderstood and judged, loneliness- much alone time with God. You may experience loss- of loved ones, friends- either through death or separation. You may go through seasons of great drought- barrenness- when you feel like you are bearing no fruit, no growth. More than likely you will go through times when you will be rejected even persecuted. It can be crushing to our spirits. But you must believe that God has not left you but He is doing a deep work in you. But He must get "you" out of you. He must press you to the point that all you want in life is Him.
The oil was used to keep the lamp burning in the tabernacle. It was not to go out. In our lives, our lamp is to keep on burning. The very essence of our lives will come forth to bless others. The anointing allows us to serve the Lord on a personal level. Also, Isaiah 10:27 states that "the anointing breaks the yoke from your neck." In other words, the anointing breaks the bondage that we sometimes find ourselves in. It may not necessarily be sin- but a bondage to people, things, recognition, attitudes that distract us from the face of Christ. All these things will cause a great hindrance to our relationship with God- and if we are serious and want all that God has for us- these things must go- must be broken. We can be in bondage to ourselves- egotistical, full of our selves- constantly looking at ourselves, self-serving, wanting the best and to be the best. It is that fresh anointing from the Lord that allows us to stay fresh and relevant in our service to Him. We aren't all called to pulpit preaching or being out in the public. But each and every believer is responsible to make sure that we are allowing those circumstances in our lives- those tests and trials that seem to crush us and bring us to our knees- as we yield to the Lord during these times and hold on to Him and His word- He will bring forth that pure holy oil that we can use to bless Him and others.
There is a process and a price-that we must go through in order to be that holy vessel to the Lord. We must allow those times- as 1 Peter 4:12-19 states- as we "partake in Christ's suffering"- when His glory is revealed, we may be glad also with exceeding joy. Also Zechariah 13:9 and 1 Peter 1 :7 tell us that the trial of our faith- tested by fire- will be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Don't consider it a strange thing when you go through many trials and testings. As we go through them, God is refining us. He is crushing out the "flesh"- those things that will hinder your walk and service with the Lord. Allow the refining, crushing and pressing to do its work. When you come out on the other side of the process you will see the work of the Lord. Be encouraged today. What you are going through is God pressing out all that is not necessary and showing you what is.
Fresh oil
Fresh anointing
Allow the pressing to bring forth the fresh oil- fresh anointing.
~Blessings, Donna
